Santa’s conversation rules put kindness and curiosity first:
- No gift promises.
- No naughty-list threats.
- No asking for secrets.
Santa is an AI character, and AI can make mistakes. A parent stays in the room, with controls to mute or end the call.
Children’s privacy comes before family launch. COPPA is the U.S. law protecting the online privacy of children under 13. Before opening family calls, we’re putting parental notice and verified consent, data controls and deletion processes in place. A parent login alone is not that consent. Read our family privacy plans or the FTC’s COPPA guidance. Today’s preview remains adults only.
You choose the personal details
Review the name and details before calling. A first name and an interest are enough. Skip addresses, schools and sensitive information.
You can keep the moment
The private preview includes recordings you can replay, download or share for 30 days. Recording starts selected on and is clearly shown; switch it off to opt out. Anyone with the complete share link can listen. You can delete a recording to disable its link.
You know where the audio goes
Live audio and selected profile details go to OpenAI for Santa’s replies, even when recording is off. Our servers don’t store transcripts. If recording is on, the call’s audio is also saved for 30 days. See the audio privacy details.

What parents want to know.
Is this a real person or a recording?
Santa is an AI voice character, not a human performer. This is a live, two-way voice conversation: he responds to what the caller says. The sample above lets you hear the voice before joining the list. There is no live video.
When can my family call?
The early-bird list is open now. Join free for 20% off your first three calls ($10.39 instead of the planned $12.99 standard launch price). Family calls and checkout are being prepared; a launch date has not been confirmed. Today’s private preview is for invited adults using fictional details. Children’s participation and purchases are not enabled.
How do you keep parents in control?
You review the details, choose who joins and stay beside them. You can mute or end a call at any time. Santa’s instructions rule out gift promises, naughty-list threats and requests for secrets or private information. AI can still make mistakes, so a parent’s presence matters.
What if they ask, “Is Santa real?” or something difficult?
Santa is instructed to meet questions about Santa’s reality with a warm, imaginative Christmas question. If asked directly whether he is AI or human, he answers honestly. For upsetting topics, he is instructed to respond kindly and suggest a trusted person. A parent stays present and can step in or end the call.
What if Santa says their name wrong?
Review the suggested sound guide before calling, choose an alternative or type your own, such as “MY-uh”. Santa receives the guide you save. Pronunciation is not guaranteed, and you can correct him during the conversation. The current name check is a written sound guide, not an audio pronunciation preview.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Calls run in your phone’s browser with microphone access and a stable internet connection. Keep the page open during the conversation. You can install the web app if you prefer; it is optional. Phone and browser testing is still underway.
I have three children. Do I need three purchases?
Three separate calls last up to three minutes each. The planned standard launch price is $12.99; early-bird list members get their first three calls for $10.39 (20% off). Give each child their own call or let siblings talk together. One conversation uses one call, however many siblings join.
Why three-minute calls?
Each call gives them time for a hello, a story and a question, without turning the moment into a long session. Choose a hello, workshop update, cozy goodnight or after-Christmas thank-you for any of your calls. You can also follow the suggested December 1, 15 and 24 plan; you start each call yourself. Calls last up to three minutes; you can end sooner.
Can I keep or share the call?
The private preview includes a keepsake recording with play, download and share controls. Recording starts selected on with a visible indicator; turn it off before calling to opt out. With recording on, both voices are saved after the call for 30 days. Anyone with the complete share link can listen. Delete a saved recording to disable its link. Keep the page open until saving finishes. See our audio privacy details.
Do you store transcripts or process the audio?
Our servers do not save call transcripts. During a live conversation, audio and the selected profile details go to OpenAI to generate Santa’s replies, even when keepsake recording is off. Recording-on also saves the audio for 30 days. Provider processing and retention are explained in the privacy policy.
What if a call fails? Can I get a refund?
No payments are taken in the preview. If an attempt never connects and is ended, its call credit is returned. A connected call that ends early does not automatically get a replacement. If your balance looks wrong, contact preview support. Paid refund terms will be published before checkout opens. Read the current refund and call-credit policy.
Can Grandma buy calls as a gift?
Gift purchases are planned but not available yet. A relative will be able to give calls for a parent to redeem and set up privately. Parents will control the profile details, consent and calls. Join the launch list for updates; joining does not reserve a gift or take payment.
Can I add more calls or use another language?
An option to buy three more calls inside the parent account is planned. Purchases are not yet enabled. The current experience is in English; additional languages are not available yet.
